At Dundee Shelties, we have litters of puppies born several times each year.
From these litters, we are able to keep some outstanding show prospects for
ourselves. We do, however, sometimes have other show prospects for sale. There
are always some puppies which are not quite show quality. They may be too big,
too small, maybe one ear stands up, the eyes are just a big large, the tail is
held over the back, or maybe a certain puppy is just not the hammy type. These
puppies are sold as companions and pets to people who are looking for a
four-legged friend. We also have certain puppies that we believe will excel at
the performance activities - obedience, herding, agility, etc. All of our
puppies come with health guarantees and have parents who have gone through
health screening for genetic diseases. The puppies are born in our home and are
given lots of attention and socialization. Puppies sold as pets are sold with an
agreement to have them spayed or neutered. We do our very best to help each
person choose the puppy that would be best for their home and situation.
From time to time, we also decide to offer some of our adult dogs to good
homes. Again, these may be show/breeding quality or may be dogs that we have
decided need to go to homes where they will be pets. Dogs going to pet homes may
need to be spayed/neutered if they have not been already. To find out what we
